Ernesto A Groskopf
August 22, 1927 - May 15, 2017

Ernesto A. Groskopf, 89, of Long Beach, Indiana passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Hamilton Communities in New Carlisle, Indiana.

Cremation services have been selected. Private family services will be at a later date. A small time of remembrance will be at Hamilton Communities at 3:00 p.m. E.S.T. on Thursday, May 18, 2017. Burial will take place in Knight of Pytheus Cemetery in Russellville, Alabama.

Root Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Ernesto was born August 22, 1927 in San Nicholas, Argentina to the late Walter Phillip and Kathe Groskopf.

He married Norma Denton Groskopf and she is preceding him in death.

Surviving is one daughter, Kate and her husband Paul Ardissono of Long Beach, Indiana; one grandson, 2nd Lt. Carl Ardissono and his fiancé Tesia Janicki; and one sister Erika Niemann of Argentina and many loving nieces and nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by one sister Hildegard "Mousi" Schmidt.

Ernesto was a retired vice-president of Ford Motor Company International Division. He was an engineer with Ford when he worked on one of the first sleeper cabs for trucks along with being a Safety Engineer and also working along side of William Clay.

Ernesto help two bachelor degrees one in Civil Engineering from Argentina and a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University. He was proud of the fact he spoke five languages fluently and was able to to be part of the Kiwanis Club in Rochester, Michigan and Lions Club in Niceville, Florida. He was an avid golfer and a 32nd Degree Mason.

Memorials may be to the LaPorte County Parks Foundation or the Lions International Eye Program.
