Robert Willard Ritchey
February 26, 1952 - July 16, 2022

Robert Willard Ritchey, 70, of The Pines passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at his home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Apostolic Lighthouse Church, 1320 Earl Road, Michigan City with Rev. Robert Hamilton officiating. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Root Funeral Home and on Friday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Robert was born February 26, 1952 in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin to Willard Hall Ritchey and Elizabeth (Wilcox) Ritchey Puckett.

On May 20, 1972 in The Pines he married Judy Darlene (Mejean) Ritchey who is surviving.

Also surviving are four children, Robert "Bill" Willard (Angela) Ritchey II, Charles Wallace (Erin) Ritchey, Rachel Elizabeth (Jason) Benjamin and Jeffrey Walter (Selena) Ritchey; seven grandchildren and five step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Betty Ann (Kevin) Herzog and Patsy Rose (Larry) Vegneter; half-sisters and brothers, Rosie, Beverly, Pauline, Lynn, Cassius, and Earl; and step-brother Casey; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Willard Hall and Colleen Ritchey; mother and step-father, Elizabeth and Connie Puckett; two brothers, Walter and Cameron; and two step-brothers, Kelly and Clayton.

Robert retired from US Steel as a millwright in 2014.

He was a proud Army veteran and loved to collect junk and recycle in his spare time. He also was an avid Monopoly collector. He was a 4H Leader for 10 years and Superintendent of Recycling. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his wife and kids and grandkids.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
