Thomas J Biela, 75, of Michigan City passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Franciscan Health Center in Michigan City.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Queen of All Saints Church with Rev. David Kime officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Stanislaus Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm and on Thursday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the Root Funeral Home.
Tom was born August 2, 1949 in Michigan City to the late Stanley and Mary (Zekowski) Biela.
On December 30, 1989 he married Dawn Marks who is surviving in Michigan City.
Also surviving are two daughters, Anna Biela and Sara (Ben Oldham) Biela; and many loving extended relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by one brother Stanley F. Biela.
Tom was a retired Senior Engineer from Nipsco. He also taught math at PNC and Ivy Tech.
He was a member of Queen of All Saints Church and Charter Member and First Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus Council 12951 at Queen of All Saints. While at Queen of All Saints he also lectored and was a Eucharistic Minister. He volunteer his coaching skills for baseball, soccer and basketball. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
