Elizabeth Ann "Betty" White January 13, 1942 - July 23, 2010
Elizabeth Ann Betty White, affectionately known as Little Bit to her family, 68, of Michigan City, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010 at St. Anthony Memorial.
Cremation has taken place and a committal service will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 1 p.m. with Brother Saun Gray, CSC presiding. There will be a time of remembrance from 12 p.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at the Root Funeral Home.
Betty was born Jan, 13, 1942, in Michigan City, to the late Elroy and Jeanette (Weatherbee) Robbins.
On May 20, 1961, in Michigan City, she married John White, who survives in Michigan City.
Also surviving are four children and 12 grandchildren. They are a son, Kevin Wayne (Pam) White of Cape Carteret, N.C., their children, Stephanie Kay (Matthew) Broughton, Andrea Lynn and Jennifer Ann; son, Cortney Allen White of Michigan City, his children, Joseph Stephen, Payton Wayne, Aspen Michael and Jade Lynn; daughter, Valarie Lynn White of Sawyer, Mich., her children, Dustin Ray, John Courtney, Sean Riley; daughter, Beth Ann White of Michigan City and her children, Isaac Joseph and Naomi. One sister, Margaret (Larry) Clifford of La Porte; two brothers, Rolly (Judy) Robbins and Duane (Judy) Robbins, both of Michigan City, also survive.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Marie White and a son, John Wayne White Jr.
Betty was formerly employed by the Long Beach Country Club before moving to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she was employed by C. Kay Cummings Candies. After returning to Michigan City, she worked as a secretary for St. Stanislaus School. Betty enjoyed designing candy at C. Kay Cummings, was a member of AARP, loved to do crafts, sewing, gardening and spending time with her children. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
